Issues before implementation

In terms of operations, various types of information were dispersed across multiple Excel files for each business, which led to issues related to management man-hours and overall efficiency.
The functionality of the core system that Creek & River Inc. (hereafter referred to as ‘CR’ ) had implemented at the time had become increasingly sophisticated in the form of individual business requirements, and while useful to some skilled users, there were functions that were too complex to use.
The data entry screens also became increasingly complicated due to individual requests, leading to a high input burden.
　
On the system side, the API response speed was slow, and the usability of the external site using the API was poor.

Process from Decision to Go-live

CITRON SYSTEMS CO., LTD. (hereafter referred to as ‘CITRON’ ) participated in the project from the planning stage as a consulting firm, subsequently assuming responsibility for the development phase.
We examined the feasibility of replacing existing operations with Salesforce and isolated both necessary and unnecessary functions.
Subsequently, we developed “customized functions to be realized with Salesforce” and developed replacements for “My Page and API functions to be linked”.
With the cooperation of both CR and CITRON, we were able to go into production without incident.

Effects and Results of implementation

Various types of information are now centrally managed within Salesforce, establishing a robust foundation for enhanced operational efficiency.
The internal processing of the API was optimized in conjunction with the replacement, resulting in a significant improvement in response speed.
Additionally, CITRON provided comprehensive security consulting and tailored proposals to build a system with reduced security risks, ensuring greater protection for organizational data.

Future Development

With the completion of this project, various types of information that were previously dispersed have been integrated into Salesforce, and CR is now positioned to more actively pursue its mission of “improving the lifetime value of professionals” and “contributing to the creation of value for our clients.”
The recent renovation has also made the security of the front-end system, which handles a variety of personal information, stronger than ever before.
By taking over the entire system from CITRON, we intend to bring the system in-house to “speed up the provision of new services to customers” and “maintain system security in response to the increasing sophistication of business operations.”

- Please briefly tell us about your responsibilities.
  
  ・Responding to special orders from the board of directors and implementing company-wide business reforms.

- What was the impetus for the implementation of Salesforce?
  
  There was a request from the field to replace the existing core system, along with a proposal to introduce Salesforce as an alternative, prompting us to start considering whether or not to implement it.
  After evaluating multiple systems, we decided to implement Salesforce based on a comprehensive assessment of system requirements such as reliability and scalability, as well as feedback from the field.
- What are some good points about CITRON’s end-to-end system development approach?
  
  This project consisted of two phases: the “period of use in combination with the core system” and the “replacement of the core system.”
  Both phases had limited time, but especially during Phase 2, the replacement of the core system required defining a large number of business requirements in a short period, and frequent negotiations with the field were necessary. As a result, it was crucial to proceed with the project efficiently.
  During this process, President Watanabe made accurate proposals based on technical feasibility during on-site negotiations, which greatly contributed to correcting the course of heated discussions and bringing the project to an early conclusion. I believe this was due to the high level of technical capabilities of CITRON.
- What are your expectations for CITRON in the future?
  
  Thanks to CITRON ‘s efforts, we were able to consolidate our operations and information into Salesforce and lay the foundation for future upgrades.

  Currently, we are receiving cooperation from CITRON for in-house production, and we would like to ask them to take over and accompany us toward in-house production so that we can further sublimate this foundation that we have created together.
  It has been a long project, but what CITRON has always said, “We will accompany you until you are on your own,” will become a reality in a short time.
